Meyer’s elegant English translation of this ancient text anchored the bestselling National Geographic book “The Gospel of Judas” last spring. “The Gospel of Judas” was discovered in the 1970s, it disappeared again for years into the antiquities market until National Geographic authenticated and purchased it. These texts weren’t accepted into the New Testament. “The Gospel of Judas” refers to an authentic text written in Coptic (the language of early Christians living in Egypt) and dating back to at least the 2nd century A.D. ![]() The event is free and open to the public. “The Gospel of Judas” willbe held at 7 p.m. Marvin Meyer, to present a fascinating lecture.
